Each year, the job market selects members of AKTO Alumni for collaborations across the entire spectrum of arts and design. Program graduates can be immediately absorbed by the market, as they are valuable partners for any team and business. Furthermore, the Career Office aims to provide advisory support to AKTO Alumni on matters of job searching, portfolio creation, resume or cover letter writing, interview preparation, educational development counseling, and general professional growth, while also connecting them with market demands. AKTO’s Career Office helps graduates connect with the job market and a wide range of professional activities in various fields.

Academic Distinctions

In affirmation of the academic work produced at the School, AKTO has received significant international certifications and distinctions, the most recent of which are:

  • AKTO was ranked among the top 100 educational institutions for Architecture & Design in Europe, according to research published by DOMUS Magazine.
  • It is among the 11 best Design schools internationally, according to a competition organized by the Cumulus Association in collaboration with the Italian magazine Ottagono – Arquideas.
  • It is the only educational institution in Greece that is an official member of the Cumulus Association, the Global Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, which consists of the most renowned universities in the world, which you can see here.
  • As a partner college of Middlesex University London, AKTO has been audited since January 2005, through a robust and systematic process for measuring its educational quality and learning by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), and has achieved the highest mark of academic quality for 16 consecutive years. The latest audit was successfully conducted in November 2022.

University Degrees – International Recognition

The collaboration between AKTO and Middlesex University London is the longest-standing partnership, by Greek standards, between an educational institution and a foreign university. The postgraduate and undergraduate programs offered by AKTO operate with the validation of the British University and lead to the internationally recognized academic titles of Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree and Master of Arts Degree from Middlesex University London. The University (MU) is accredited by the British State (UKRI & OFS), constituting a distinguished university body that enjoys international recognition.

The University’s (MU) study programs are recognized at European and global levels, and Middlesex University London is recognized by DOATAP as an equivalent University to Greek Higher Education Institutions. Furthermore, according to Presidential Decree 38/2010, as amended by Laws 4093/2012, 4111/2013, 4205/2013, and 4635/2019, professional equivalence is recognized by ATEEN for Bachelor’s and Master’s university degrees in Greece. These graduates are eligible to participate in ASEP competitions, according to Article 13 of Law 4148/2013.

AKTO students have the opportunity to excel academically and professionally, even while still studying. Through Real Work Projects developed jointly with universities and cultural organizations abroad, as well as through collaborations with the broader market, AKTO creates conditions that strengthen its students’ portfolios and foster their distinction, both domestically and internationally. The work of students and graduates is showcased through exhibitions and events held in exhibition spaces, museums, art, and cultural venues.
