AKTO is able to support quality ONLINE Education through its distance learning programs and contribute to the academic success of students, always aiming to enhance the overall distance education experience.

Specifically, in Distance Learning, as well as in Open College Study Programs, education becomes even easier with access to the educational tool Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) of Microsoft Office 365. The VLE aims to enrich the distance learning experience, bringing the learning environment and “classroom” communication to each student’s screen. Microsoft Office Pro Plus

AKTO students are granted the unique privilege of installing the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus on five (5) of their personal devices (laptop, tablet, mobile, desktop, etc.), along with all popular applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs.

Coordination & Teaching via Teams

Course sessions and meetings within the framework of instructional teaching are conducted through the user-friendly synchronous and asynchronous education platform, offering capabilities for audiovisual material presentations, Video, archiving of course content and bibliography, scheduled semester meetings and reminders, as well as forum-style discussions.

AKTO students can access information about their studies at any time through the edu4schools online management system, allowing them to quickly and easily find information about their enrollment. The teaching schedule is also available online for members of the AKTO community here.

ONLINE Library Services

The virtual teaching process is enhanced through the School’s libraries in Athens and Thessaloniki, which are organized according to international standards and can fully meet the requirements of students for distance learning. They feature an ONLINE catalog, where users can browse approximately 40,000 entries of books, periodicals, audiovisual material, ebooks, DVDs, CDs, VHS, podcasts, and Diploma Theses in undergraduate BA (Hons) and postgraduate Master of Arts programs across the following thematic categories:

Technical Support

AKTO utilizes the most popular and modern synchronous and asynchronous education platform, in collaboration with Microsoft, MS Teams.

Students can install the application either from the Play Store / App Store for mobile phones, or from https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads for computers. Teams can also be used with all modern browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox), with a preference for Chrome and Edge.

For its use, a fast and stable internet connection is recommended, and if connecting via Wi-Fi, to be close to the router. Finally, the best audio results are achieved with wireless or wired headphones and microphones.

For full utilization of the platform, a Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS device with an updated operating system version is required. Additionally, speakers, a camera, and a microphone are needed, which all smartphones and laptops possess, as do desktop computers equipped with these peripheral devices. At a minimum, speakers or headphones are required.
